Crypto Market Global SCAM
A notification on Twitter brought attention to a crypto pump group on Telegram, where a post claimed that a specific coin would experience a significant price surge on a set date and time. Motivated by curiosity, an individual visited the website
https://crypto-gate.global/ previously known as crypto-market.global
and created an account. The platform required users to upload their ID via a passport and enable two-factor authentication, which gave an impression of legitimacy.
Initially cautious, the individual decided to observe whether the promised price increase would occur. On the second day, they attempted to deposit funds into the platform. The site recommended a minimum deposit of 100 USDT but suggested 500 USDT for better results. Believing the claims, they deposited 500 USDT and purchased the coin promoted by the Telegram group. While the coin's value appeared to skyrocket on the platform, no such increase was observed elsewhere. The wallet balance reflected 2000 USDT on the website.
When they attempted to withdraw funds, the withdrawal option was unavailable. Customer support claimed an additional deposit of 850 USDT was required to enable withdrawals. Trusting this instruction, they deposited 870 USDT, but the withdrawal feature remained disabled. Upon further inquiry, they were told the deposit had to be exactly 850 USDT. It became evident at this point that the individual had been scammed, losing a total of 1350 USDT. This case highlights the importance of caution when engaging with unverified platforms and the risks of falling for fraudulent schemes.
